Charlotte is a photojournalist now based in Los Osos, California.
She travels internationally for conferences, weddings and stock travel work. She also avidly pursues her own documentary projects.
Her approach is always the same, whether for a formal business portrait, or a classroom of children. Charlotte works with an open mind and heart. Her committment and enthusiasm have not waned over her eight years in the business. As testament to this, clients from her first year of work still come back to her.
Thanks to a childhood split between America and England, Charlotte has maintained strong links with the US and UK. After completing a Master's Degree in Photojournalism at the University of Montana, Charlotte worked for The Santa Fe New Mexican. She then went on to freelance for a host of American newspapers based in Pennsylvania and Maine. Contributing to her love of travel, she also worked as Staff Photographer at The Tico Times, based in San Jose, Costa Rica.
Charlotte works less in the newspaper world these days, but attributes her impressive inter-personal skills and ability to jump into any situation to her background in newspapers. After encountering dead bodies, AIDS victims, house fires and rapists on a weekly basis, Charlotte now enjoys applying her photographic eye to happier events. Fundamentally, it is her fascination for human nature which fuels her original and thought-provoking photography.
"Looking at her photographs is like observing stolen moments from another person's life."
